Table Topicmaster

The Table Topicmaster assists the club members in practicing their impromptu speaking skills by providing topics on which the club members speak extemperaneously.
 
 

Before the meeting -

* Check with the VPE to see if there is a meeting theme. - If so consider preparing Table Topic questions in concert with meeting theme. * Prepare the Table Topic questions - Prepare enough questions for all in attendance, usually 15 is enough. * Prepare a written introduction for yourself. Meeting day, prior to beginning - * Arrive early to see if there are any guests in the audience.

* Explain Table Topics to the guests before the meeting and ask them if they would like to participate.

* Give your written introduction to the Toastmaster of the meeting.

During the meeting - * Offer a word of thanks to the Toastmaster, and take control of meeting when introduced.

* Explain the Table Topics program to the audience.

* Ask the timer to explain the timing procedure for Table Topics.

* Present the Table Topics.

- Ask members who do not have assignments on the agenda first.

- Ask the guests to participate if they indicated they would like to participate before the meeting began.

* Be aware of the time, ask remaining members, who have speaking assignments to participate only if time permits.

* Ask timer if all Table Topic participants were within the time limits.

* Ask audience to vote for best Table Topic speaker of the meeting.

* Appoint someone to collect ballots.

* Conclude, thank the audience for allowing you this opportunity to be Topicmaster and return control of the meeting to the Toastmaster.
